Sue Pope from Madison has been an “influencer” when it comes to girls’ and women’s hockey long before that term became popular on social media.
Bellon played organized hockey from 1937 to 1940 and organized the Green Bay Hornets from 1950 to 1953. He was named vice president of the Wisconsin Amateur Hockey Association in 1951 and was the president of the organization from 1952 to 1956.
Bellon was a driving force in getting hockey going in Wisconsin in the 1950's. His recognition is long overdue. He also worked with the hockey publicity people in southern Wisconsin as well as Milwaukee and Green Bay.
