Molly Engstrom was born and raised in the small northwestern town of Siren, Wis., and played youth hockey from the ages of six to twelve in nearby Webster.

Donald Clark was a dedicated amateur hockey administrator in Wisconsin and Minnesota. He was a director, registrar, and vice president of USA Hockey for over twenty-five years. In 1975, he received the Lester Patrick Award from the NHL for his outstanding contribution to American hockey. He also wrote extensively on the history of the sport in Wisconsin and Minnesota. He was inducted into the USA Hockey Hall of Fame in 1978
