Wally Akervik

2022 Inductee
Wally Akervik was born in Duluth, Minn., and was a four-sport athlete at Duluth Central High School, helping his Trojan team reach the Minnesota State High School Hockey Tournament.

Ann Ninnemann

2022 Inductee
Ann Ninnemann was born in St. Paul, Minn., and began playing ringette at the age of four.  By her own admission, she played ringette through the sixth game and then hesitantly transitioned to ice hockey in the seventh grade.

Pat "Duffy" Dyer

2022 Inductee
Pat “Duffy” Dyer was born in Virginia, Minn., and played youth hockey in that Iron Range community.  After high school, he graduated from UW-Superior with a bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology and would go on to a long career at St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth.

Rebecca Hamilton-Hildebrandt

Rebecca Hamilton-Hildebrandt (or “Coach Becky” as she is better known locally) was born and raised in Sauk Prairie and began playing hockey in 1982, the first year that Sauk Prairie had a hockey association.
  • Pete Elko - 1984
Born in Winnipeg, Canada, March 4, 1919. the Elkos moved to the United States when he was 17 years of age. Pete Elko hod a remark­able and varied career as a player with several outstanding teams. A short resume of his career includes the following: played for the Whiting, Indiana Standard Oil team in the Chicago Arena league in 1937-38, and was voted to be a member of the Chicago All-Star team which took on the Eagle River Falcons in the Chicago Stadium.

Following retirement as on active player, Elko turned his talents to coaching, at which he was most successful. Coached the Eagle River Grode School teams before becoming the Falcons coach in 1948. In 1950, he took the job as building manager for the Grand Rapids, Mich. stadium, and then in 1953-54 was publici­ty and promotion director for the Milwaukee Chiefs of the IHl. In 1960-61 Elko operated the Eagle River Sports Arena and sponsored and coached the Northernaire team. Returned as coach of the Falcons in 1977 through the 1981 season.
