In 1952, Marvin Elliot began his officiating career. Over 1000 games and thirty plus years later, he had officiated in all levels of youth, high school, and senior hockey. He officiated six state high school championship games and several USA Hockey national senior tournaments. He instructed many officials and worked with USA Hockey on several rule changes.
Elliot helped found the Eagle River Recreation Association that includes hockey, baseball, and youth fishing clinics. He was named Man of the Year by the Eagle River Chamber of Commerce.
