Molly Engstrom was born and raised in the small northwestern town of Siren, Wis., and played youth hockey from the ages of six to twelve in nearby Webster.

Sue Pope from Madison has been an “influencer” when it comes to girls’ and women’s hockey long before that term became popular on social media.
Edward Hoffman played four years of high school hockey starting in 1942 for Shorewood High School. He then joined the Milwaukee Flyers senior men’s team and played with them until 1960. During this time, he led his team to the state championship and several second-place finishes. In the 1950s, he was the league MVP in the Southern Wisconsin Hockey League. He continued to play recreational hockey until 1987, ending a forty-five year career. From 1961–1988, Hoffman officiated all levels of hockey. In addition, he coached youth hockey for SHAW and Waukesha.
