Molly Engstrom was born and raised in the small northwestern town of Siren, Wis., and played youth hockey from the ages of six to twelve in nearby Webster.

Sue Pope from Madison has been an “influencer” when it comes to girls’ and women’s hockey long before that term became popular on social media.
Dick O’Brien is responsible for building the two artificial ice rinks in Eau Claire. He spent countless hours acquiring funds—two million dollars, as well as designing the facility. He helped start the two high school programs. Without the rinks, there would be no college hockey in Eau Claire. He served on many community projects and served as president of the youth hockey organization. He also coached youth hockey.
The City of Eau Claire named the main arena the Dick O’Brien Arena.
